Redbud Elementary School
Just across the street from Jackson Creek is Redbud Elementary, which includes free Pre-K and kindergarten to fifth grade. Redbud Elementary opened in 2021, making it one of Edmond Public Schools’ newest elementary schools. It features a media space, dedicated playgrounds for younger and older students, and is themed around the growth of the redbud tree, with each grade’s pod representing one part of the tree. Redbud Elementary is ranked in the top 4% of elementary schools in Oklahoma and was home to the district’s 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year.
Central Middle School
Ranked in the top 1% of middle schools in Oklahoma, Central Middle School is a National Blue Ribbon School and a recipient of the Red Dirt Book Award. Along with competitive sports, it offers a number of opportunities in arts and music.
Memorial High School
Memorial High School is considered the fifth best high school in all of Oklahoma. It is a National Blue Ribbon School and a recipient of the Siemens Foundation Award. Every year, it produces multiple National Merit finalists. The Bulldogs have won a combined 54 state championships in 16 sports.
Knox Farm

Deer Creek Middle School

Deer Creek High School earned a bronze distinction on the 2024 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll. As the only high school in Deer Creek, it is a point of community pride known for its college-readiness programs and athletics, all while maintaining a small-community feel.

History
Edmond was founded on April 22, 1889 when Oklahoma was still a territory, and was named by the Santa Fe Railway in honor of engineer Edmond Schuyler Burdick. It is home to many Oklahoma firsts, including the first church building and the first newspaper.
Education has always played an important role in Edmond. In the heart of Edmond is The University of Central Oklahoma, which started its long history as the Territorial Normal School – the teaching college that educated Oklahoma’s teachers.
