Celebrating Women In Construction: Trish Morris, Director of Development

It is rare to find a woman in land development, but Trish Morris has been part of this department for just over nine years. She came into land development on accident, starting out with the Homeowners Association (HOA), and was then asked to manage projects as Ideal Homes became busier, and the position just stuck.

The development team is the group that decides the footprint for the neighborhoods before they event start building homes. "What we do is do everything before a builder can build a house. We put in your pavement, we cut the dirt down, we cut out the trees if we've got to. We put in sewer and water. We also dig out all of the ponds and install all of the amenities to the theme of that neighborhood," Morris said.
