Designing the Jacobson

April 27, 2022

When buying a new home with Ideal Homes & Neighborhoods, one of the questions you need to ask yourself is, should I custom build or buy a pre-designed home? Some homebuyers love to be involved in every step of the selection process at the design center. But, if you have an eye for interior design, you can make any space uniquely yours without needing a blank slate.

Taylor Stallard, Blonde and Blue Designs owner, and Ideal homeowner, recently moved back home to Oklahoma from Baltimore with her husband, Chas, and cat, Garfield. Stallard says she loved breaking the rules of design when putting the finishing touches on their spacious Ideal home.

The Jacobson 1,864 square-foot floor plan is three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. It includes an oversized breakfast area that can function as a formal dining room. This plan offers walk-in closets for each bedroom. A utility room is conveniently located near the secondary bedrooms and garage so you can drop off muddy shoes when entering the home and keep from dragging dirty laundry all the way across the house. A mudroom located at the garage entry keeps everyone organized as they come and go. Plus, a living area with a large bank of windows brings in natural lighting accented by a cathedral ceiling with a faux beam across the room. The exterior elevation options for the Jacobson are craftsman, farmhouse, and modern style.
