Valencia Schools Among Best in State

 Students who live in Valencia can attend either Deer Creek or Edmond Public schools, depending on the area where their home is located. Both school districts are widely recognized as being among the best in Oklahoma. Deer Creek Schools Home to one of six Oklahoma 2017 Blue Ribbon Schools, Deer Creek Public Schools serves students in northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond. Consistently recognized as one of Oklahoma’s most outstanding school districts, this reputation for educational excellence has driven an influx of new homeowners since the early 1980s. Today the district has one high school, which now includes a Freshman Academy, Alumni Hall and the PAAC (Performing Arts and Athletic Center), a multi-sport complex and a new football stadium; one middle school; one intermediate school and five elementary schools. This money is being used to build two new elementary schools, bringing the total number in the district to seven. This bond money is also being used to build three classroom wings at multiple schools, additions to the high school’s performing arts center and a second story on the middle school. Edmond Public Schools The Edmond School District has 11 National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, the most of any district in Oklahoma. Directly north of Oklahoma City, this district has close to 25,000 students and employs more than 3,000 people. U.S. News and World Report has named all three high schools in the district among the top 10 in Oklahoma. The district purchases and retains full ownership and has measures in place to prevent inappropriate use of these devices. Programs for Gifted & Talented Students From elementary through high school, Edmond offers gifted and talented programs for students whose intellectual, creative, leadership or visual arts/performing arts abilities require differentiated programs for the full development of their talents and abilities. Athletic Tradition of Success In the past 11 years alone, Edmond schools have acquired 84 OSSAA state athletic championships. The district follows the philosophy that participating in athletics helps individuals learn skills and character traits such as hard work, leadership and sportsmanship that will serve them well into their adulthood. Strong, Ongoing Community Support The Edmond community has a strong, consistent history of supporting the quality of education local students receive. This was proven yet again Feb. 14, 2017, when two bond proposals totaling $111 M were overwhelmingly passed to increase student safety, fund technology and upgrade and improve school buildings and campuses.
