HOLIDAY SPIRIT SHINING BRIGHT IN BRANSON
November 17, 2020
If your holiday spirit and your desire to take the family on a joyous seasonal road trip are equally bright, then Branson, Mo., is the spot you want to visit this holiday season. Not only is it festive and bright, but it's also drivable from any of our Ideal Homes and Neighborhoods in the Oklahoma City, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Choctaw, Edmond, and Piedmont area. See the Lights Branson’s Christmas lights are up and ready to be seen and admired. There’s Let There Be Lights on display at the Promised Land Zoo. An interactive zoo by day, Promised Land turns into a sparkling winter wonderland every evening at 5:30 p.m. From then until 11:30 p.m., visitors can drive their vehicles through the 2-mile all LED lights display and even listen to Christmas Music on 106.9 K-KLAUS from the North Pole, all the way.
Once they’ve driven through the lights display, there’s still the Candy Land Courtyard to be explored on foot, complete with hot cocoa, a live Nativity Petting Zoo, Santa and his reindeer and more. The Trail of Lights at the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead offers a two-and-a-half-mile holiday light display featuring everything from touchingly subtle to exciting and elaborate displays that include religious, humorous, Victorian and patriotic themes. The display follows a trail once used by early settlers of the Ozark Mountains and winds through the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead, which helped inspire Harold Bell Wright to write his bestselling novel. With both traditional and whimsical displays, Lights of Joy offers hundreds of LED light displays on both sides of the road for 1¼ miles.
It’s open from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. through Jan. 2. A four-time winner of USA Today’s 10 Best Readers' Choice poll for the nation's Best Theme Park Holiday Event, An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City includes more than 6.5 million lights and more than 30 holiday shows onstage daily. Available through Dec. 31, the Discover Branson Christmas Lights Tour takes its customers through all of Branson’s light displays and allows them to choose between a complementary wine or hot chocolate to enjoy along the way.
